Fairtrade Fortnight - A 1-hour, all new global Citizenship lesson suitable for KS2. In this lesson, the students will learn how the Fairtrade Foundation helps to prevent the exploitation and unfair treatment of farmworkers in developing countries. We will discuss the role of the Fairtrade price guarantee in helping farmworkers to avoid poverty, and we will discuss the positive impact of the Fairtrade Premium on communities in developing countries. The students will investigate the meaning of a 'fair price' when we look at the income distribution of a bar of chocolate sold in a developed country, such as the UK. The lesson includes an information sheet, a video clip with questions, a Fairtrade problem solving task, and a plenary.
